In East Haddam – You could have the best seat in town

April 1, 2011 Local News No Comments

image by <a href=The East Haddam Lions and East Haddam Community Lions Clubs would like to announce a joint project, The Best Seat in Town, which will raise funds for the construction of a pavilion and other improvements to the proposed Heritage Park located adjacent to the East Haddam Senior Center in Moodus.

The Clubs will sell cedar benches to local business, organizations, families or individuals who in turn, will then have them decorated by area artists.

Each bench will include a brass plaque permanently attached to the back commemorating the buyer’s participation.

The completed benches will be displayed at various locations of the participants’ choice throughout the summer and early fall.

During the summer, town residents will be able to cast ballots for the bench that is their choice for The Best Seat in Town.

The Lions will make available location maps to provide participants and voters a guide to viewing the benches.

The project will culminate with festivities on October 2, 2011 at Fox Hopyard when the benches will be auctioned to help raise funds for Heritage Park.

The cedar benches are available from any Lions Club member for $195. Get your bench now and get a head start on decorating the potential Best Seat in Town.
