Special services and events during Lent, Easter season

Magician Rev. David Reed-Brown will be a special guest at the Palm Sunday service at First Church of Christ, Congregational in East Haddam, CT.

Special services and events during the Lenten season leading into Holy Week and Easter are planned for the First Church of Christ, Congregational in East Haddam.

On Sunday, March 18, 2012 the church will host a Lenten potluck luncheon immediately following worship.

Also, Janet Yarrow from Habitat for Humanity will be the guest speaker as part of the service and will be available to answer questions during the luncheon.

And at 3 p.m., enjoy The Ernest Song Project Concert and an art exhibit featuring East Haddam artists.

Sunday, April 1 is Palm Sunday. Magician Rev. David Reed-Brown will be a part of the service and he will present a show at 1 p.m., following a Lenten potluck luncheon after the church service. A free will offering will be taken.

Maundy Thursday Service will be held on April 5 at 7 p.m.

And Good Friday April 6, will begin with the Cross Walk at 8 a.m. The walk begins at St. Bridget’s Church and will stop at the different churches in town. (Questions? Call Kathy B. at 860-873-1830).

On Friday, April 6 at 7 p.m., Witnesses of the Cross will be held.

On Sunday, April 8, there will be an Easter Sunrise Service (time and place to be announced). The Easter breakfast following the sunrise service will be held at First Church of Christ.

And Easter Celebration Service will be held at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary of First Church of Christ, 499 Town St., East Haddam, CT 06423.
