Congregations from many area churches came together on a beautiful Good Friday morning to remember what the day truly means.
They began at St. Bridget’s of Kildare at 8 a.m. with a Bible reading, reflection and verse from ‘Were You There,’ and then continued on a 5-mile journey through town.
As they walked, they shared the burden of “Carrying the Cross.”
They made stops at the Moodus Methodist Church, Chestelm Adult Day Services, The First Church of Christ, The Christ Community Church and finally, St. Stephen’s Church where walkers could stay for a noon worship service.
The walkers reflected on the final days of Christ and how the burden of carrying the Cross felt, and being blessed to be able to share the burden with others.
We are most grateful to Rob for his inspiration in starting this Cross Walk.
