Stopping at her hometown Food Bag located at 1 Colchester Avenue in East Hampton, CT Karen Hartley purchased a CT Lottery “10X Cash 6th Edition” instant ticket and scratched it, but without her glasses, she couldn’t see clearly how much she won.

When she showed the ticket to her husband, he gave her the good news; it was worth $10,000, one of the game’s top prizes.

“I am still in shock,” Hartley told Lottery officials. “I knew I won a prize, but I didn’t know how much. Whenever my husband told me it was $10,000, I thought, ‘Dear God!’ Then we scanned it in a Ticket Checker to be sure.”

Hartley was in high spirits when she visited CT Lottery headquarters in Rocky Hill to collect her prize check for $6,833 (value after taxes). “I feel like I’m dreaming here… I feel blessed,” Hartley told Lottery officials.

For selling Hartley her top prize winning ticket, Food Bag will receive a $100 bonus check from the CT Lottery.
