Mens Chorus of Cappella Cantorum comes to East Haddam

The Board of Music and the Arts at First Church of Christ, Congregational in East Haddam hosts the Men’s Chorus of Cappella Cantorum for the first performance of the fall season of Music at the Meetinghouse, at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 9.

Directed by Barry Asch, the founder, this popular choral group will perform selections from Broadway musicals and the classics, as well as sea chanties and barbershop quartet numbers.
Talented and beautifully blended, the chorus includes a few entertainers with a sense of humor, and virtually anything can happen.
This promises to be a fun experience for both young and old, the nostalgic and the modern.
Tickets are $15 at the door. Children under 12 are admitted free.
A full reception follows with ample time to meet the choristers.
Coming up
At 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13, come back to First Church for Parker’s Tangent, a blues and rock band from the New Haven area with a reputation as a crowd-pleaser. A female lead vocalist, a female drummer, a lead guitarist, rhythm guitarist, violinist and bassist, this group uses its own compositions and receive accolades for unforgettable performances.
And at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 18 a Thanksgiving Ecumenical Concert is planned to raise funds for the local Fuel Bank and Food Bank that will include musicians and groups from East Haddam.
