Paving work is planned at Gillette Castle on Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 25 and 26 and as a result, the main entrance and parking lot will be closed.

The castle and the surrounding grounds will remain open.

The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) announced Monday (Sept. 24) that while paving operations are being conducted, the park will remain open and entrance fees will be waived.

Limited parking will be available at the Hadlyme Ferry Parking lot on Route 148. (Visitors will have to walk to the castle from the ferry parking lot.)

Gillette Castle is open from Memorial Day through Columbus Day in October from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The hiking and picnicking areas at Gillette Castle are open year round from 8 a.m. to sunset.
