CT Dept of Motor Vehicles closed Feb 11-12

The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) will be closed Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 11 and 12 in observance of Lincoln’s Birthday, which is a legal State holiday.

Update – The CT Department of Motor Vehicles has canceled road skills testing at all offices Wednesday, Feb.13 as a safety precaution, due to snow piles/snow banks that can create hazards for pedestrians and blind spots for motorists at intersections. Road tests are expected to resume Thursday, Feb. 14.

The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) will be closed Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 11 and 12 in observance of Lincoln’s Birthday, which is a legal State holiday.

The DMV will re-open for business at 7:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 13.

Also, on Friday, Feb. 15, DMV major customer service offices will close at 12:30 p.m. to observe President Washington’s Birthday; offices will reopen Tuesday, Feb. 19 at 7:45 a.m.

Some AAA offices will be open for processing license renewals on Monday and Tuesday, including Manchester, 1500 G Pleasant Valley Road.

Extensions

The DMV has extended, until further notice, the expirations for licenses, permits, registrations and other time-sensitive requirements. DMV will review the length of that extension period and have an announcement about the deadline.

Emissions testing

Customers seeking an emissions test should check Monday to find out which test stations are open. A list of test stations can be found at ctemissions.com<http://ctemissions.com/

Scheduled hearings

Those who have scheduled hearings Monday at the Department of Motor Vehicles should call Wednesday to reschedule; call the DMV Administrative Hearings Unit at 860-263-5204.

Road and Learner’s permit tests

DMV offices statewide were closed Friday and Saturday (Feb. 8-9) because of winter Storm Charlotte. Customers with cancelled road test appointments can reschedule by calling the DMV Phone Center when offices reopen Wednesday, Feb. 13.

Through the website and phone center pre-recorded information, customers can find specific details 24 hours a day on such topics as: obtaining non-driver identification, change of address and change of name, vehicle tax questions, records information, forms, emissions, inspections, operator’s licenses, titles and registrations and directions to DMV branch offices and photo license centers. They also supply details on boating registrations, commercial vehicle safety, and instructions on how to file a complaint against a dealer or repairer.
