Hello From the Editor

October 15, 2014 Areawide, Feature, Local News No Comments

imageDear Readers:

It’s been about a month since I began covering your communities, and I’d like to take this time to say hello and introduce myself. My name is Bette Tani, and I recently moved here from Dutchess County. NY. I’ve been in journalism since 1993 when I was hired by The Pawling News Chronicle. After it’s demise, (following over a hundred of years of publication), I was recruited for a start paper in the same town in 2009. Economy and other factors forced the publisher to shut down in 2012, so I am now here (another long story).

I really just want you to know that as the editor of the East Hampton, East Haddam Today Newspapers, you can count on fair and honest reporting. I will give you as many facts as I can dig up, and tell them to you so that you can make up your own minds, without bias. I will also do my best to let you know what is going on in your community from events and happenings at schools, community functions, regional topics, news, politics, personal triumphs and struggles, sports and photos of your kids, as well as hard hitting, investigative news reporting when necessary. … Continue Reading
